Our Team


Hotel Fifu is run by Om Prakash Kewaliya (known by his friends as Fifu) and his family, with the help of a team of dedicated staff. Established in 1999, the hotel is styled on an ornate, traditional Haveli with stunning views of Jaisalmer’s ancient fort. Tucked in a quiet corner, just outside of the city centre, Hotel Fifu offers a quiet kind of luxury.

Om Prakash – “Fifu”

Fifu was born in Jaisalmer and has been working in the tourism industry for over 20 years. In 1996, Fifu started his camel safari business, which still continues today. In 1999, Hotel Fifu was built from Fifu’s own original design. Using traditional methods and the help of the local community, the building was constructed in 3 years, with additional rooms added until it’s completion in 2006. Fifu is a graduate in economics and accountancy. He speaks Hindi, fluent English, German, Spanish and French, and is married with two children.


Fifu’s nephew, Antriksha is 28 years old. Like his uncle, he is a graduate in economics and accountancy, and multilingual. Besides from fluent English and Hindi, Antriksha learnt to speak French at the prestigious Indo-French culture centre, Alliance Francaise d’Ahmedabad. He is married with one child.


Fifu’s son, Anirudh is 25 years old and a graduate in commerce. He also speaks English and Hindi and learnt Spanish from Instituto Hispanic Delhi.

Our Standards


As our guest, your comfort is our top priority. From beautifully furnished rooms with tea and coffee facilities to cushioned window seats at our terrace restaurant with rugs available for cold nights, we have considered every detail to ensure your stay is as pleasant as possible. Our hotel is located in a quiet area just outside of the city centre. We try to maintain a peaceful atmosphere where you can relax away from the noise and chaos of the streets. On a sunny day, our restaurant terrace is a beautiful spot to curl up and read a book with a cup of hot Masala chai.


We pride ourselves on providing service with a smile. Our staff are always available to help or just to chat. We’re keen to hear your stories and can offer advice about sites and restaurants in the local area.
